May 10, 2018--The Migratory Bird Treaty Act--Emily Kearns
As part of National Audubon Society’s Audubon Ambassador, Emily Kearns is engaging citizens across Arkansas to take actions that help birds thrive where we all live, in cities and towns.
Emily will talk about the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and the challenges facing it in the current political climate. In addition, we will discuss other issues affecting our birds, what Audubon is doing about it, and specific actions you can take to help us at the local, state and national level.
Emily Kearns is a Field Organizer for Audubon Arkansas, a state office of the National Audubon Society. Emily has a B.S. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Master of Public Service degree (M.P.S.) from the Clinton School of Public Service.
June 14, 2018--Spring Potluck
Potluck venue: Entergy Park
Our spring potluck will be held June 14 at Entergy Park pavilion off Carpenter Dam road on Lake Park Drive. If you go over the bridge, you have gone too far. Meet at 6:00 pm and eat shortly thereafter. Serviceware (plates, cups, silverware, napkins) will be provided. Bring your favorite summer dish to share with others. There is a nice trail to walk afterwards and do some bird watching. Marty Lynch, Secretary
